Susan Apold PhD, ANP-BC,GNP, FAAN, FAANP
Dr. Susan Apold is an Adult Geriatric Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care. She has served as the two time President of the American College of Nurse Practitioners, and was a member of the inaugural Board of Directors for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. As well, she served as President of the Nurse Practitioner Association New York State. She is a is a popular speaker on nurse practitioner issues and advocacy. Her clinical focus has been in primary care and prevention as well as in the care of the elderly. Dr. Apold was the Dean of Nursing for 3 years and served as the Vice-President for Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx, New York. In that capacity, Dr. Apold was instrumental in the creation of a Family Nurse Practitioner program. Dr. Apold is the Founding Dean of Nursing of Concordia College New York's Nursing program. Currently, Dr. Apold is a Clinical Professor of Nursing at New York University's Meyers College of Nursing where she is responsible for policy and politics education for nurse practitioner students at the Master's and DNP level.
Dr. Apold is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing; a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners; and a Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellow (2013--2016).
Dr. Apold maintains a clinical practice in New Rochelle, New York.
