Mary Dierich, PhD, MSPH, MSN, APRN, CNP, FAANP is national expert in practice and policy. In Minnesota, she started the first urodynamics lab, first conservative continence treatment program, first autonomous NP practice and changed service reimbursement. Her work in Home-based Medicine decreased hospital readmissions by a third, led to practice re-design, and remains a strong endorsement for autonomous NP practice. Her policy work for multiple national and regional organizations continues to impact access to care, independent practice, practice protocols, interdisciplinary collaboration, NP training and reimbursement. She is the recipient of the 2020 AANP Nurse Practitioner State Award for Excellence.
