Jo Ann Beatty Serota DNP, RN, CPNP, FAANP
Dr. Serota, an independent practice owner forĀ 38 years and has witnessed first-hand the complex changes in the practice of primary care. As a nurse practitioner for more than 38 years, she has advocated for and championed patients and promoted the NP as primary care provider in today's health care setting. She graduated from Gwynedd Mercy University in Pennsylvania with her BSN, MSN and PNP in primary care and earned her DNP from Chapman/Brandman University, Irvine CA. She has served as President of Delaware Valley Chapter of NAPNAP and National President of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) and former President of the NAPNAP Foundation. Dr. Serota is the Primary Care Case Study Corresponding Editor for the Journal of Pediatric Health Care and was a founding member of the Advisory Editorial Board for Ready, Set, Grow, a NAPNAP publication that was distributed free to families and childcare providers in all 50 states. Dr. Serota is currently the Secretary for the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and is Chair of the PCNP Communication Committee. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau Iota Chapter (Gwynedd Mercy University) and a member of the Leadership Succession Committee. Dr. Serota has presented at national, regional and local nurse practitioner conferences on various topics including leadership, practice ownership, entrepreneurship, mentorship and becoming a preceptor.
