Katherine J Dontje PhD, FNP-BC, FAANP
Dr. Katherine Dontje is a certified family nurse practitioner, researcher and educator. She is Professor at Michigan State University. She has over 25 years of clinical experience and 15 years of research experience conducting quantitative and qualitative studies in primary care settings. Her research focuses on the nurse practitioner and patient interaction. She has developed a model of NP practice and most recently has focused on informatics tools as a means to engage the patient in shared decision making. Dr. Dontje has been an educator for over 20 years of her practice and focuses her efforts on interprofessional partnerships. She has received two HRSA Grants one on Interprofessional Education and most recently a grant to support education of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners.
