Catherine Marie Haut DNP, CPNP-AC, CPNP-PC, CCRN, FAANP, FAAN
Dr. Catherine Haut is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who currently serves as the Director of Nursing Research and EBP at Nemours Children's Hospital in Wilmington, DE. She mentors nurses and other interprofessional members of patient care services in identifying research and quality improvement initiatives, determining methodology, accessing ethical review and practice integration. She practiced in both primary care pediatrics and the pediatric intensive care unit for over 30 years and has 10 years of experience as faculty and program director for a state university PNP program. She has been instrumental in the development of the Acute Care PNP exam and recertification program. She has co-authored four publications that have clarified the role of the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Haut developed an interprofessional workshop and program to teach educators how to support nurses and families in caring for children with life-limiting conditions. She has over 60 publications and was co-editor for 2 pediatric acute care textbooks. She served as the President elect, president and past president of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) from 2014 - 2017 and recently completed a 3 year term as president of the NAPNAP foundation board, a position that involved fund raising and offering grants and scholarships to NAPNAP members. She has received significant awards for clinical practice, scholarship and volunteer work over many years as a nurse and nurse practitioner.
