Louise Kaplan PhD, ARNP, FNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN
Louise Kaplan, PhD, ARNP, FNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN is an associate professor emerita and adjunct faculty in the College of Nursing of Washington State University. Dr. Kaplan has conducted research on the nurse practitioner work force and prescribing practices, the doctor of nursing practice degree, the influence of Washington State's nurse legislators on health policy, medical marijuana, NP hospitalists, rural NP residencies. She is active in many state and national organizations including ARNPs United of Washington State. She has published and presented widely on her research and along with her colleague Marie Annette Brown published a co-edited book, The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse as a Prescriber. She maintains a clinical practice as an FNP and consults as an expert reviewer of discipline cases for the Board of Nursing and for legal cases.
