Mary M Aruda PhD, PNP-BC, FNP-C, FAANP
Dr. Aruda is a practicing pediatric and family nurse practitioner, with specific expertise in adolescent health. Dr. Aruda has published 15 articles and 3 book chapters. Her research helped to identify 'fertility fears' as a potential motivator for unprotected sexual activity in adolescent females, which was useful in teen pregnancy prevention efforts. She developed the MICON Pregnancy Follow-up clinic at Children's Hospital, Boston, as a quality improvement initiative. Dr. Aruda has served as a grant reviewer for HRSA for many years. She was the Distinguished Nurse Practitioner of the Year in 2009 for Massachusetts and inducted as a fellow in the AANP in 2011. She is a prior board member of the Lupus Foundation of New England, and maintains interest in the early diagnosis and management of lupus.
