Christine A Engstrom PhD, CRNP, AOCN, FAANP
Dr. Christine Engstrom is the voice of 4,500 VA nurse practitioners and 84,000 VA nurses as the Acting Chief Nursing Officer for the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the 2013 Chief of the Federal Nursing Service Council. Dr. Engstrom has been instrumental in improving nursing care for Veterans healthcare, with substantial contributions to oncology care. She has created prostate cancer practice guidelines and piloted breast cancer quality indicators with the Oncology Nursing Society and The Joint Commission. She recently represented the movement of NP FPA in discussions with stakeholders such as the AMA, ASA and AAFP and members of congress.
