Jill R. Engel DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC, FNP-BC, ANP-BC, NEA-BC, FAANP
Dr. Jill Engel, a certified Family, Adult and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, serves as the Service Line Vice President for Heart and Vascular Services for Duke University Health System where she supports strategic and operational initiatives and drives clinical and operational quality improvement across the health system. Dr. Engel's area of practice includes Cardiothoracic Surgery Intensive Care and the CTOR. Dr. Engel serves as a resource sharing expertise at national and international venues on CT Surgery clinical practice and Heart & Vascular Service Line development and operations. Her goal is to transform cardiovascular care delivery and NP practice models across all phases and transitions of care to optimize patient outcomes and clinical operations. For her work, she received the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners’ State Advocacy Award, American Association of Critical Care Nurses Circle of Excellence Award and Duke University Health System’s Research Mentor Award. Dr. Engel was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Nurse Practitioners in 2016 and completed The Academy GE Fellows Program for Nursing Executives in 2018. Dr. Engel completed a Post-Doctoral Quality Implementation Scholars program at Duke University School of Nursing where she also serves as a Clinical Associate.
