James Luther Raper PhD, CRNP, JD, FAAN, FAANP, FIDSA
Dr. Raper is an FNP at the HIV Clinic at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He holds the rank of professor w/ tenure in both the Schools of Medicine & Nursing and is a Senior Scientist at the Center for AIDS Research. His research interest focuses on HIV as it relates to secondary prevention in MSM, HPV related ASIL, substance abuse, and health care expenditures. He is an accomplished presenter and author of numerous published articles and book chapters. Dr. Raper served on the Alabama Board of Nursing, the Joint Committee for Advanced Nursing Practice and the NCSBN's Advance Practice Advisory Panel. He earned a BSN at Kent State University, an MSN at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, a PhD at UAB and in 2003 a JD at the Birmingham School of Law.
