Diane Todd Pace PhD, APRN, FNP-BC, MSCP, IF, FAANP, FAAN
Dr. Pace earned a diploma in nursing/1971, a certificate as a FNP/1976, a MSN/FNP/1996 and a PhD in nursing in 1998 as well as additional bachelors and masters non-nursing degrees. She retired, February 2024 at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Nursing, but continues as Professor, Volunteer Faculty. prior to retirement she held a dual appointment as Associate Professor in the College of Medicine/Department of Ob-Gyn with whom she collaborated in clinical practice at a menopause/sexual health clinic she helped develop with Regional One Health.As a member of the Menopause Society (Formerly The North American Menopause Society) since 1996, she has been a Certified Menopause Practitioner since 2001. She served on the Board of Trustees for 6 years, Society Treasurer, and is the only Nurse Practitioner to serve as Society President. She has served on expert panels developing Position Statements and contributed to the Menopause Practice: A Clinician’s Guide textbook. As a beta-tester for the MenoPro app, she contributed to the publication, assisting providers to prescribe HT, and was the only non-physician on the Menopause Curriculum Task Force developing curriculum for residents and other clinicians. She served as reviewer for The Journal of Menopause, Clinical Pearls, & has contributed to publications and more than 100 presentations on menopause and sexual health related topics. She is co-author of 3 book chapters on menopause in nationally recognized textbooks and collaborated on development of national CME programs.
Dr. Pace has been awarded the NAMS Menopause Practitioner of the Year, and she is the only non-physician to be awarded the prestigious Dr. Leon Speroff Educator Award. She also has received the Tennessee Nurses Association Award of Excellence in Advanced Practice Nursing. She has been inducted as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nurses (FAAN) and serves on the Women’s Health Expert Panel and also a Fellow in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) where she has been a recipient of the AANP State of Tennessee Award of Excellence. Additionally, she has been named a National Organization Nurse Practitioner’s in Women’s Health (NPWH) Inspirations in Women’s Health Awardee and helped to incorporate menopause content in their nationally recognized Women’s Health App. She has been inducted as a Fellow (IF) in the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH). Dr. Pace is a member of the International Menopause Society where she is the only NP to be nominated for their Board of Directors and serves on their international Consumer Education and Membership committees. Dr. Pace is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, the American Nurses Association/Tennessee Nurses Association and has received many professional clinical, leadership, and educational awards over her nursing career. Additionally, she was selected by the UTHSC's Alumni Board as the first Outstanding Methodist Hospital School of Nursing Alumni. She also is an Outstanding Alumni for Union University School of Nursing.
