Dr. Audrey Snyder is a Professor and Associate Dean for Community Engagement and Academic Partnerships in the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina- Greensboro. She is certified as an acute care and family nurse practitioner. She is the Program Director of the Transforming Primary Advanced Practice in Medically Underserved Communities HRSA Nursing Workforce Development grant and the Mobile Health HRSA grant at UNC Greensboro supporting Minerva’s Mobile Health program which increases access to healthcare for residents of rural and underserved communities in the Piedmont region of North Carolina. She has a passion for building working teams to address community and educational needs.
She has been honored as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Academy of Emergency Nurses, and the American Academy of Nursing.
Her significant contributions have focused on disaster resilience, promoting access to care for rural and under resourced populations and decreasing barriers to access advanced education for rural nurses.
She completed her PhD in Nursing from the University of Virginia in 2007. She has been an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners since the acute care nurse practitioners aligned with AANP many years ago. She is sought after as a speaker on technology in acute care education and advanced practice skills teaching. She is a Past-President of the Rural Nurses Organization and founding member of the Global Rural Nurse Exchange Network.
