Mary L Chesney PhD, APRN, CPNP, FAAN, FAANP
Dr. Mary Chesney is a Clinical Professor at the University of Minnesota and a national leader in DNP/APRN education, innovation, and implementation. Her health policy contributions include advancing NP practice authority and child health advocacy. Chesney served as NAPNAP's President (2014-2015) and Health Policy Chair (2010-2013). She co-founded the Minnesota APRN Coalition and led the 2013-14 successful APRN full practice authority legislative campaign. In recognition of her leadership, she received numerous awards including the 2020 National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners Loretta Ford Distinguished Fellow Award, 2014 American Academy Fellowship, 2014 MN-NP Advocacy Award, 2014 MN Association of Nurse Anesthetists Public Affairs Award, 2012 NONPF Health Policy Award, and two AANP State advocate Award of Excellence (2009 & 2016).
