Marva Mizell Price DrPH, RN, FNP, APRN-BC, FAANP, FAAN
Dr. Price has, for forty-four years, been a family nurse practitioner and academician. Her FNP is from the University of North Carolina School of Nursing and she has a post-masters in Developmental Pediatrics from the University of Washington, Seattle. A Master’s and Doctoral degree in Public Health have provided numerous opportunities for practice, service, leadership, education, and research. She was a member of the family nurse practitioner faculty at Duke University School of Nursing and University of North Carolina School of Nursing. In addition to teaching nurse practitioner students, she was a program director for both schools, and at Duke she chaired the admissions committee for the DNP Program. She has translated and disseminated her research outcomes in cervical, breast, and prostate cancer for practice in cancer prevention and detection nationally and globally. She chaired subcommittees with the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties and served two terms on the Board of Directors. Through commissions and boards, Dr. Price has been skillful in influencing health policy to optimize the health of vulnerable populations. Dr. Price is Associate Professor Emeritus, Duke University School of Nursing.
