Cheryl D Rising APRN, DNP,FNP-BC,FAANP
Cheryl Rising has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 1996. As legislative liaison with the North Dakota Nurse Practitioner Association (NDNPA), she was instrumental in health policy changes and passage of full scope of practice legislation in North Dakota. She has mentored other nurse practitioners and those individuals are facilitating legislative initiatives at this time. She is an entrepreneur that owns Health and Wellness by Cheryl. Cheryl also developed Prairie Assisted Living Service and passed this business on to another NP to carry on care to assisted living residents. Ms. Rising established an APRN practice in an ophthalmology clinic by developing protocols for pre-surgical patients. Current awards include North Dakota Legendary Nurse for policy development and AANP North Dakota Nurse Practitioner for Excellence. Cheryl also received the State Nurse Advocate award. Cheryl is an entrepreneur, political activist, educator, clinical preceptor and expert, Ms. Rising continues to promote the APRN profession in North Dakota. Ms Rising is also a completed her Doctoral work at the University of Mary, Bismarck, ND in 2019. Cheryl currently is enjoying retirement and advocating and mentoring others for the role of NP. Cheryl is also promoting wellness with individuals, family, and communities. Cheryl is passionate about promoting wellness and how may we impact the epidemic of chronic illness.
