Jamesetta A Newland PhD, FNP-BC, DPNAP, FAANP, FAAN, FADLN
Dr. Newland is Clinical Professor Emerita at the New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing in New York City. She earned a Post-Master's Certificate in Teaching and a doctorate both from the University of Pennsylvania. She maintains an active practice at a federally qualified health center providing care to an underserved population. She continues to mentor junior and mid-level faculty. Dr. Newland is the editor-in-chief of The Nurse Practitioner journal and for many years was the coordinator for the Education column of the FAANP Forum. She is active in numerous other professional organizations and has experiences in international consultation for NP education and practice in Botswana, Japan, Lithuania, and China. She is a Fulbright Specialist alumna and a current member of the New York State Board of Nursing. Dr. Newland is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, most recently a 2024 Distinguished Alumni Citation from Gustavus Adolphus College and the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties.
