Dr. Morrison-Beedy joined The Ohio State University in 2018 as the Chief Talent and Global Strategy Officer and Centennial Professor of Nursing. In 2016-17 she was a Fulbright Scholar in Scotland, UK and was recently listed on the Fulbright Specialist roster and had a Senior Administrator Fulbright Award (France). As Dean of the College of Nursing and Senior Associate Vice President of USF Health, University of South Florida from 2010-2016, she catapulted the College into the top 25 in NIH-funding, first in the nation for military and veteran’s health and top graduate program in Florida. Known both as a scholar and a leader, Dr. Morrison-Beedy has received numerous awards for her work, including the International Nursing Research Hall of Fame, Florida Top 100 Nurses, Excellence in HIV Prevention Award from the Association for Nurses in AIDS Care, and the Excellence in Research award from the Association of Women’s Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and both the Florida and New York State Distinguished Researcher. She developed a sexual risk reduction intervention for adolescent girls, HIPTeens, recognized by the CDC and US Dept. of Health and Human Services as an exemplary evidence-based intervention for both HIV/STI and teen pregnancy prevention. She has over 250 publications including an award-winning book on intervention research. She has had over $12 million in research funding and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, the National Academies of Practice and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She serves on several boards including the Global Executive Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association and was chosen by the International Council of Nurses as a Global Nursing Leadership Institute Fellow in Geneva.
