Lisa A Braun APRN-BC, FNP, PhD, MBA, JD, FAANP
Dr. Lisa Braun is a Commander in the United States Navy stationed at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth VA (NMCP). She is a Nurse Scientists in the Nursing Research Department, family nurse practitioner, and Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She serves as the Navy Nurse Corps Specialty Leader, Nursing Research and Uniformed Services University for the Health Sciences Clinical Assistant Professor-Phase II DNP NMCP Site Director. Dr. Braun received her bachelors of science in nursing from the University of Florida, Gainesville in 1992, her masters in nursing from the University of Florida in 1995, a masters in business administration (healthcare track) from Touro International University in 2005, a Juris Doctor (health law track) form Concord Law School in 2005, and her PhD in Nursing from Yale University in 2015. Dr. Braun has served as a military government liaison, scientific review panel, for the Triservice Nursing Research Program (TSNRP) and US Army Medical Research and Material Command, and an abstract reviewer for Military Medicine, Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Journal of Research Practice. She is experienced in qualitative research design and methodology, and is a mentor and advocate for doctoral education, research and evidence-based practice. She is passionate for improving healthcare delivery standards with a specific interest in military women's health.
