Terri Schmitt PhD, ARNP, FNP-BC, CDE, FAANP
Dr. Terri Schmitt is a family nurse practitioner, seasoned educator, consultant, and Executive Director of NPACE. She maintains a clinical practice and specializes in family health, telehealth, pediatrics, adolescent health, and endocrinology, with a background in rural health, school nursing, urgent care, and pediatrics/neonatology. She has educated nurses and nurse practitioners for over 17 years. She worked with the University of Missouri Pediatric Endocrinology Department in developing a satellite diabetes clinic, as PI in research on prevention of disordered eating in adolescents with T1DM, and has pioneered spreading the word of nursing through Social Media. She has also won numerous awards for teaching excellence including two Daisy awards. She actively writes and speaks on adolescent health, diabetes, obesity, and pediatric endocrinology and has worked internationally related to healthcare access and social media. Her current research interests include social media, adolescent health, diabetes, and pedagogy with FNP students.
