Madrean Schober, PhD, MSN, ANP, FAANP, FAAN is President of Schober Global Healthcare Consulting. As an international healthcare consultant she provides consultancies to governments, academic institutions and healthcare clients. She has expertise in healthcare policy, curriculum design and program development for nursing. In capacities as educator, mentor, writer, and lecturer she advocates for insightful care to diverse populations and strategic planning for improved access to healthcare for all. Her consultancy experience and expertise extends to over forty countries developing and implementing advanced nursing roles. Dr. Schober was the Region 5 Director member of the board of directors and has been actively involved in lobbying for legislative rules and regulations defining state NP practice, advocating for and developing a coalition for NPs in Indiana. Dr. Schober's most outstanding contributions to the NP movement have been in the area of international networking. She is the 1999-2000 Virginia Henderson Fellow for the International Council of Nurses (ICN) in Geneva, Switzerland. She was the International Relations Liaison for AANP from 1994 - 2014. As a leader in the development of the ICN International Network for APNs and NPs she works to promote a visible presence of advanced nurses globally. This work intersects with the WHO Regional Offices where she promotes increased international collaboration among national and international associations.
