Linda R Rounds PhD, APRN, FNP, FAAN, FAANP
Dr. Rounds is a Professor and the Associate Dean for Professional Development at the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Nursing in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Rounds has been actively involved in nurse practitioner education and practice for over 35 years. She has been active in the development of distance education for nurse practitioner education, including online GNP, AGNP, and DNP programs and has received numerous training grants to support innovations in NP education. She has consulted both nationally and internationally in the area of curriculum development for nurse practitioner programs. Dr. Rounds has worked in collaborative practices with physicians in both gerontology and family practice. She has served as president of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, also receiving that organization's "Outstanding Nurse Practitioner Educator of the Year" award. She is a member of the UTMB Academy of Master Teachers and received that organization's "Lifetime Achievement Award". She is also a member of the University of Texas System Academy of Health Science Educators. She serves as a manuscript reviewer for several journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Rounds servedĀ 12 years as a member of the Texas Board of Nursing, serving 11 years as president of the Board. She remains active in public policy affecting nurse practitioners and nurse practitioner education.
