Laurie Anne Ferguson, DNP, APRN, ANP-BC, FNP-C, CPNP is Professor at University of Texas Medical Branch.
Dr. Laurie Anne Ferguson, DNP, APRN, has practiced as a Nurse Practitioner since 1984. Certified as an Adult, Family, and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, she has practiced in diverse clinical settings, including ER, Occupational Health, and Primary Care, across Pennsylvania, North Dakota, Florida, Louisiana, and Manitoba, Canada.
She earned her BSN from the University of San Francisco, MSN from the University of Pennsylvania, and DNP from the University of Texas, Houston Health Sciences Center.
A dedicated nursing educator since 1993, Dr. Ferguson has served on faculty at the University of Manitoba, University of South Florida, Louisiana State University, and Loyola University New Orleans, where she was appointed Dean of the College of Nursing and Health. In 2021, she was named Founding Dean of the School of Nursing at Emory & Henry College in Virginia. She currently serves as a Professor in the Graduate Program at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX.
Dr. Ferguson is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) and the National Academies of Practice (FNAP). She resides in the rural Appalachian Highlands of Virginia and maintains an active clinical practice.
