Melody A Weaver, PhD, FNP-BC Assistant Clinical Professor, Idaho State University School of Nursing As a clinician who came to academia after 35 years in clinical practice Dr. Weaver received an Early Educator Award for Excellence, having been nominated by her peers. She has continued to excel in combining clinical practice and education in an effort to create the next generation of FNP students. With her focus on rural populations she presented on dementia knowledge in rural older adults at the 2019 Alzheimer's Association International Conference, has been recognized as as Rural Health Hero, and most recently received the AANP Idaho State Award for Clinical Excellence. Dr. Weaver continues to focus on vulnerable, underserved populations in both the clinical and education arenas.
