Alvita Kay Nathaniel PhD, FNP-BC, FAANP
Dr. Nathaniel is Professor Emerita at West Virginia University School of Nursing. As a family Nurse practitioner, she was involved in indigent care for nearly 20 years. She is active in health policy making. She maintains a keen interest in ethics and access to health care and has written widely about nursing ethics. Dr. Nathaniel developed the original theory, Moral Reckoning in Nursing and is co-author of Ethics & Issues in Contemporary Nursing. She has served on a number of professional and government advisory boards related to health and indigent care. She was honored as West Virginia Nurses Association's 1991 Politically Active Nurse of the Year.
