Denise Soltow Hershey, PhD, FNP-BC, Associate Professor, College of Nursing, Michigan State University. Dr. Hershey has led the efforts to obtain Full Practice Authority in Michigan. As president of the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners, she launched a grass roots campaign involving NPs from across the state, formed a legislative taskforce, spearheaded the writing of a white paper focusing on improving access to care and decreasing health disparities through full practice authority for NPs, with the successful introduction of a FPA bill that has bipartisan support. She was president of the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners from 2021 through 2022, serves as the chairperson of the legislative taskforce.
