Dixie Lee Harms DNP, ARNP, FNP-C, BC-ADM, FAANP
Dr. Harms is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and is employed full-time for the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board as the Associate Director of Certification. She also practices part-time at MercyOne Comfort Health Center where she specializes in menopause management, perimenopause management and andropause. She is also board certified in Advanced Diabetes Management.
Dixie obtained her Bachelor's and Master's of Science of Nursing in Nursing Administration from Drake University and her Post-Master's FNP Certificate from Clarkson College in 1997. She obtained her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Iowa in 2009.
AANP activities include past recording secretary of the AANP Board of Directors, conference co-chair, journal reviewer for JAANP, secretary and nominations committee for FAANP. She has also participated in development and presentation of multiple AANP Continuing Education programs and has presented at AANP National Conference multiple times. Dixie has also presented at the International Council of Nurses APN conference. She has also served as membership secretary of the Iowa Nurse Practitioner Society.
