Michelle H. Knowles MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, FAANP
Michelle Knowles retired in 2023 after 28 years of primary care practice in the private sector and the VA. The last 4 years of practice was serving as the Fort Hays State University DNP Simulation Coordinator. Michelle was also involved in state legislative efforts to retire the collaborative practice agreement in Kansas, which took 12 years. Kansas was able to defeat several attempts by the Kansas Medical Society to create joint regulation of NPs. In 2022, the APRN strategic team, which Michelle was an integral part of, successfully passed Full Practice legislation with no extra requirements into law. She has been awarded the Robert Dole VA Woman of the Year; the Excellence in Nursing, RN-Extended Role from the Deputy Secretary of the VA for Robert Dole VA, as well as the AANP NP of the Year for Kansas.
