Lori Ann Spies PhD, APRN, FNP-C, FAANP
Dr. Lori A. Spies is an FNP and expert educator with an outstanding scholarship record. She brings global health expertise to expanding the NP role internationally, particularly in African countries. Dr. Spies teaches Global Health and Epidemiology and mentors students in globally relevant DNP projects. Her graduates have established nurse-led clinics in Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Uganda, and the US. She is a Fulbright Scholar with an active program of research with a current focus on behavior change to improve hypertension and other non-communicable disease outcomes. Dr. Spies is past president of North Texas Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurse Practitioner Legislative Ambassador, and a current co-chair of the ICN Advanced Practice Nursing Network Practice sub-committee. She is widely published and has received global and local recognition and awards.
