Deborah Tedesco, DNP, ANP-BC, is an NP in reconstructive surgery, a DNP instructor, and President of the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network. As an active policy influencer, Dr. Tedesco developed the Florida NP Advocacy Toolkit to encourage NPs to use their clinical skills in the policy arena. Dr. Tedesco mentors an AANP International Ambassador who is working to impact policy change in Slovenia. Dr. Tedesco is an APP director and clinical practice leader impacting the opioid crisis at the local, state, and national levels by decreasing postoperative opioid use while achieving excellent pain control. Her efforts have crossed discipline boundaries, lauded by multiple professional nursing organizations and the American College of Surgeons as a best practice.
