Deborah C Gray DNP, MScN, FNP-C, ANP-BC, FAANP, FAAN
Dr. Deborah C. Gray, DNP, MSc, FNP-C, ANP-BC, CGNC, FAANP, FAAN is a Clinical Associate Professor at Old Dominion University, where she developed courses on innovative models of care, inspiring NP entrepreneurship and telehealth. Additionally, she is an Entrepreneurial Fellow at Old Dominion University, and a Health Care Business Owner, and Consultant for start-up NP-owned businesses. She has taught, presented, and published her work nationally and internationally on various policy, clinical, and educational topics, including Nursing Entrepreneurship, Telehealth, Global Advanced Practice Nursing, Integrative and Alternative Care, and NCDs, specifically the management of hypertension internationally. She is a certified global nursing consultant and improving global population health is one of her passions and research areas of interest.
Dr. Gray is Deputy Director of the International Council of Nurses NP/APNN Global Academy of Research and Enterprise, and served as Co-Chair of the ICN NP/APNN Research Subgroup. She has been active in the AANP International Ambassador Program and AANP International Committee, as well the United Nations Foundation and other Global initiatives including the Anglophone African Advanced Practice Nursing Development Coalition. Dr. Gray served as a Fulbright Scholar living for the year in Africa during 2018-2019, working with the World Health Organization and the NP/Advanced Practice Nursing programs University of Botswana and University of Ghana to expand health care capacity in Africa through telehealth and distance education. She is the AANP Virginia State Liaison and was inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2018 and the American Academy of Nursing in 2022.
