JoAnn Bardol Franklin DNP, APRN, GNP-BC, FNP-BC, PMHNP, FAANP
Dr. JoAnn Franklin, a pioneer in Nurse Practitioner practice, began her career in 1977. She is educated as a Family, Geriatric and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She opened one of the first NP owned practices in Missouri serving the National Health Service Corps for three years. Dr. Franklin volunteered two years of service for Missouri State Board of Nursing Telehealth Task Force working to increase healthcare access for Missourians. She developed techniques through research for Long Term Care as an educator, researcher and clinician demonstrating positive NP practice outcomes in Missouri Quality Initiative CMS Grant. This grant is predicted to enhance best practice national standards in Long Term Care. She is the Missouri and Metro East Illinois 2019 March of Dimes Research Nurse of the Year. She was the 2015 AANP Missouri Clinical Excellence Award winner, 2016 AANP Fellow and 2019 AANP Missouri Advocacy Excellence Award winner. She also serves a contributor and peer reviewer for Journal for Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Franklin is a founder of the Association of Missouri Nurse Practitioners and past President, Vice-President, Southeast Representative and Advocacy Committee Chair. Dr. Franklin is a Fellow of the first virtual AANP Nurse Practitioner Organization -MO APRN FPA. JoAnn wrote a Missouri Ballot Initiative for Full Practice Authority 2024-168. Dr. Franklin has served as a preceptor for NP programs. Dr. Franklin believes in and demonstrates service to the profession.
