Cindy Luther PhD, AGPCNP-BC, FNP-BC, FAANP
Dr. Luther is Director of Gerontological and Psych Mental Health NP tracks at University of Mississippi Medical Center and Director of the Mississippi Educational Consortium for Specialized Advanced Practice Nursing. She practices as a Family NP in a rural health clinic, and interests include management of osteoporosis and care of older adults. Dr. Luther has experience in staff and patient education and nursing administration. She has worked as a NP for 15 years. She has served as coordinator of a family NP track and has taught NPs for 8 years. She has served on the Mississippi Nurses Association Board of Directors for 3 terms and is an active member of Mississippi Nurses Association's Advanced Practice Council. She serves on the Blue Cross Blue Shield NP Council and the Advisory Panel for the Mississippi State Department of Mental Health. She is a board member of the Alzheimer's Association of Mississippi. Dr. Luther frequently speaks to professional audiences on topics related to bone health, health promotion, dementias and health issues of older adults. She received Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association's 2011 Excellence in Education award.
