Ellie S Strock APRN, ANP-BC, CDCES, FAANP
Ellie S. Strock, ANP-BC, FAANP, CDE, is an adult nurse practitioner and Vice President, US Medical Affairs, Voluntis. Prior to joining Voluntis in 2014, Ms. Strock had been with the International Diabetes Center in Minneapolis for over 25 years. She held numerous positions including Education Director for the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center for Diabetes Education, Translation and Computer Technology at the IDC In 2010, Ellie was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (FAANP) in recognition of her contributions and commitment to advancing the nurse practitioner role. In 2011, she was named Visiting Professor, Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing, China.
Ellie is a graduate of the University of Minnesota completing both her nursing and adult nurse practitioner degrees. She has over 30 years experience in diabetes care and education. As co-author of Staged Diabetes Management (SDM) and a member of the implementation team, she and the team have implemented SDM in over 400 clinical sites throughout the United States as well as 40 countries worldwide. Ellie’s research and clinical interests include a focus on use of continuous glucose monitoring and ongoing development of the ambulatory glucose profile (AGP). Ellie has consulted with many international diabetes organizations on the role of the diabetes educator. She has authored over 30 articles on diabetes in peer-reviewed journals and has made numerous presentations on diabetes at national and international diabetes and nurse practitioner meetings.
Her clinical interests have been in type 2 diabetes serving as co-investigator and sub-investigators for numerous clinical trials focusing on novel therapies with a special interest in incretin-based therapies.She has authored several abstracts and papers focusing on use of CGM to understand GLP-1 based therapies.
