Susan J Corbridge PhD, ACNP, FAANP, FCCP, FAAN
Dr. Susan Corbridge is the Chief Essentials Program Officer at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. She has been a nurse educator, nurse practitioner, and scholar for more than 25 years and is a Professor Emerita at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Nursing. As a faculty member at the UIC College of Nursing from 1998-2021, Dr. Corbridge served in many leadership and administrative roles including Director of the adult-gerontology acute care clinical nurse specialist and nurse practitioner programs, Director of the Graduate Entry MS Program, Director of the DNP Program, Associate Dean of Practice, and Executive Associate Dean. In addition to her faculty and administrative roles, Dr. Corbridge was a Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Illinois Chicago Hospitals and Clinics and maintained an active clinical practice as a nurse practitioner for over two decades. Her scholarship has focused on innovative team-based, nurse-led practice and educational strategies centered on social determinants of health to inform educational initiatives, curricular reform, and clinical practice.
