Jennifer Lynn Williams PhD, MSN, MPH, FNP-BC, FAANP
CAPT Jenny Williams, U.S. Public Health Service, is a nurse epidemiologist in the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She is a family nurse practitioner and has a PhD in nursing research and master’s degrees in nursing and in public health from Emory University. CAPT Williams started working at CDC in 2001 as an Epidemic Intelligence Service officer. Over the past two decades, her work has focused on birth defects surveillance and prevention programs, maternal conditions that affect child health, and emergency response. Her awards include the Charles C Shepard Science Award, the CDC/ATSDR Nurses Innovate Award, the AMSUS Humanitarian Assistance Award, and the Secretary’s Award for Distinguished Service.
