Joan E King PhD, ACNP-BC, ANP-BC, FAANP
Dr. King is a leader in the development of the acute care nurse practitioner role and in the development of one of the first acute care NP programs at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She is the currently the acute care NP (or ACNP) program director, and she was one of the first certified ACNP's. Using her experiences as an educator and clinician, she has participated in the education of over 400 ACNPs, and has been an active member on the ACNP Content Expert Panel. Her current focus is in the development of a new intensivist subspecialty within the ACNP role.
