Richard M Prior DNP, FNP-BC, FAANP
Dr. Richard M. Prior received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Creighton University in 1991, a Master of Science in Nursing from the Uniformed Services University in 2002, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from George Washington University in 2012.
Dr. Prior served for 25 years in the United States Army, culminating as the Chief Nursing Officer/Deputy Commander for Nursing at Ireland Army Community Hospital, Fort Knox, KY. He held the rank of Colonel. He deployed to Somalia in 1993 and Kuwait in 2005.
He is a subject matter expert on the history of Army nursing and co-edited the book Answering the Call: The U.S. Army Nurse Corps, 1917-1919. He has published and has lectured on a variety of history of military medicine and primary care topics.
Dr. Prior is currently the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Cincinnati. He resides in Union, KY with his wife Elizabeth and children Matthew and Laurel.
