Denise Lucas PhD, FNP-BC, CRNP, CNE, FAANP
Dr. Denise Lucas is Chair of the Advanced Practice Programs at Duquesne University. While volunteering her time serving as a preceptor and clinician at a free clinic, Dr. Lucas developed an exemplar model of care for underserved populations in rural Appalachia. Her leadership in NP education resulted in the creation of clinically relevant curricula focused on population health and clinical reasoning. Dr. Lucas received the West Virginia State award for excellence in 2010, the Rita Carty Faculty Leadership award in 2013, and is a member of the 3rd cohort of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties Leadership groups.
