Sattaria Smith Dilks DNP, PMHNP-BC
Dr. Dilks is a professor and Co-coordinator of the graduate nursing department for McNeese State University. Additionally she is the director of the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) program with the Intercollegiate Consortium for Masters in Nursing, a coalition of four universities in Louisiana, with McNeese State University being her home university. She is the past president of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners and demonstrates a passion for both educating the future PMHNP workforce and providing the citizens of Louisiana with excellent mental health care. She holds certifications as a PMHNP and a FNP and has an active private practice in addition to her role as a nurse educator. Her practice specialty areas include working with survivors of sexual abuse and outpatient treatment of dissociative disorders. She serves as a consultant for psychiatric issues for advanced practice registered nurses and counselors statewide.
