Patricia Ann White PhD, ANP-BC, FAANP
Patricia White, PhD, ANP-BC, is an Associate Professor at University of Massachusetts Graduate School of Nursing in Worcester, Mass since the summer of 2017 and is teaching in the DNP Program. She had previously taught at Simmons College in Boston since 1987 where she was the Co-coordinator of the Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Program for 25 years and the DNP Program Director for 4 years. She received her B.S. and M.S. in Nursing from Boston College and received her PhD in Nursing at the University of Rhode Island. She has an ongoing NP clinical practice since 1983 and currently practices in primary care and geriatrics.
She is active in NONPF and the Mass Coalition of Nurse Practitioners where she is currently the PAC treasurer and active in the legislative process to assist Massachusetts in their quest to obtain full practice authority. She completed an Ethics Residency at MGH and currently directs the Ethics Committee at the Elder Service Plan in a PACE program. She has also collaborated on creating Inter Professional clinical experiences in geriatrics. Her research and teaching interests include patient outcomes related to NP practice, ethics, geriatrics, palliative and end of life care and educational research on best teaching practices for NP and DNP students.
