Kathleen Perrott Wilson PhD, APRN, CPNP, FNP-BC, BC-ADM, FAANP, FNAP, DipACLM -Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional
Dr. Wilson is dually certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) and a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC). She is a Clinical Professor in the Graduate Program and a nursing practitioner in the FSU HEALTH Lifestyle Medicine Clinic, in association with the College of Nursing, Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. She has many years in practice with board certification in advanced diabetes management and is trained in obesity management. As a Diplomate with the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, she holds specialty certification as a Lifestyle Medicine Professional. Over her 40+ years as an APRN, she has held positions in nurse practitioner education, implementation research (preventive intervention), and administration, and she has extensive experience in chronic disease prevention and management across the lifespan, as well as faculty practice and community program development. In addition to her AANP Florida (North) State Liaison role from 2022-2024, she has served as the Region 1 Director for the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network (FNPN) from 2018 – 2023. She currently serves as the inaugural Capital Liaison supporting legislative efforts in Tallahassee for FNPN. She is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) and a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academy of Practice (FNAP). She has been invited to a 2-year (2024 - 2026) appointment to serve on the Florida Center for Nursing's inaugural Wellbeing Advisory Board, a multidisciplinary statewide board that will provide advisement on policy matters that apply to nurses and future nurses in the state of Florida.
Dr. Wilson considers herself a lifelong learner as evidenced by her recent completion of the Lifestyle Medicine program through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Working in the field of chronic disease management has encouraged her to see opportunities to support her patients and professional colleagues in the science and implementation of health promotion and disease prevention through lifestyle medicine interventions to enjoy a life worth living.
