Sheryl Mitchell DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, ACNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN
Dr. Sheryl Mitchell serves as Chair of the Department of Advanced Professional Nursing Practice & Leadership and is a Clinical Professor at the University of South Carolina College of Nursing. A dedicated leader in policy and education, she is known for her unwavering commitment to excellence and her passion for mentoring future nurse leaders. Dr. Mitchell currently chairs the American Association of Nurse Practitioners’ (AANP) Nomination Council. Her distinguished career has been recognized through numerous honors, including the AANP Clinical Excellence Award, the Center for Nursing Leadership’s Excellence in Nursing Leadership Award, the South Carolina Nurses Association’s 2023 Distinguished Nurse Award, the Palmetto Gold Award from the South Carolina Nurses Foundation, and the University of South Carolina Clinical Teaching Award. She is also a proud Amy V. Cockcroft Leadership Fellow.
