Mary Weber PhD, PMHNP-BC, FAAN, FAANP
Dr. Weber has been a leader in clinical practice, research, teaching and advocacy for the under-served and those with chronic mental illnesses and homelessness across the US in community mental health centers, homeless settings, and substance treatment programs. Dr. Weber is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and has twenty years of clinical experience, primarily working with the chronically mentally ill, and the homeless and under-served psychiatric populations. Her research has focused on the impact of treatment on the health and co-morbidities of those with mental illnesses, substance use disorders and homelessness. She re-opened the Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner option in the graduate master's degree program at the University of Colorado, one of the few lifespan programs in the West and has received numerous teaching awards. She is a national leader to implement SBIRT into Nursing curricula as well as primary care practices. She was on the task force to develop new Family Psychiatric NP competencies.
