Geraldine Young, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, CDCES, FAANP is President and Director of Nursing and Public Health at the J R Young Health Equity Institute in Greenville, MS. Dr. Young is also the founder and CEO of the Diverse Coat Society. Dr. Young impacts nurse practitioners’ practices and education locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally across multiple facets. She transforms practices and education to improve outcomes internationally. As an advocate for education and practice competencies, Dr. Young became a leadership fellow and board member of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, a content expert for the American Nurses Credentialing Center, a member of the American Association of College of Nursing’s Essentials Task Force, and an advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. As a member of the Journal of Nursing Education Editorial Board, Dr. Young continues to transform nursing education and practice to reach educational and health equity. Dr. Young has been a member the American Association of Nurse Practitioners for many years.
