Beth Ann Heuer DNP, CRNP, CPNP-PC, PMHS, FAANP
Beth Heuer, DNP, CRNP, CPNP-PC, PMHS, FAANP is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner and pediatric primary care mental health specialist. She has practiced in the areas of pediatric neurology, developmental/behavioral pediatrics, integrated mental health, lysosomal storage disorders, and mitochondrial medicine. She is a clinical professor and specialty program director for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner programs at the College of Nursing at The Ohio State University. She is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Dr. Heuer obtained her bachelor's degree in science in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh in 1988, master’s degree in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh in 2002, and her doctoral degree (DNP) from Robert Morris University in 2014.
She has presented nationally on topics related to clinical care and academic and professional issues. Her work has been published in the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Journal for Nurse Practitioners, and the Journal of Pediatric Health Care, among others. She is an author and co-editor of the Elsevier textbook “The Nurse Preceptor Toolkit: Preparing Nurses and Advanced Practice Nurses for Clinical Practice.” She has contributed chapters to numerous other nursing textbooks. She is on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Journal of Pediatric Health Care and is the Corresponding Editor of the Behavioral Health/Mental Health Department for the Journal of Pediatric Health Care.
Dr. Heuer is the former Executive Board secretary of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) and has held multiple national committee, SIG and chapter leadership positions within NAPNAP. In addition, she is a member of the Association of Faculties of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (AFPNP), the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF), the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and other professional nursing organizations.
