Victoria M Soltis-Jarrett PhD, PMHNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN
Dr. Soltis-Jarrett is the Carol Morde Ross Distinguished Professor of Nursing at The UNC-Chapel Hill School of Nursing. As an APRN since 1988, (and Board Certified PMHNP) she has demonstrated leadership in APRN education, clinical practice and scholarship, leading to the transformation of the PMHNP role in North Carolina. Dr. Soltis-Jarrett has served on various committees in the ANA (NCNA), NONPF and NACNS. She was also the President of the International Society for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurses (ISPN) from 2011-2013. Through her ongoing work over the past decade, she has been awarded over $17 million in federal, state and regional funding to increase access to quality mental health services by recruiting, educating and placing PMHNPs in underserved, rural and remote regions in her state, embedding PMHNPs into primary care settings to promote integrated behavioral health care in NC. She has been instrumental in obtaining funding to educate and train NPs (PMHNP, FNPs and AGNPs) to work to the highest level of their scope of practice and provide integrated behavioral care in rural areas. She is the Director of a HRSA funded Nurse Practitioner Residency that launched its first Residents in July 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
