Alison Hester Edie DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, FAANP
Alison H. Edie, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, FAANP, is an assistant professor at Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) where she serves as lead faculty for the FNP program. Her most outstanding contribution to practice is a sustained commitment to improving wellness of marginalized families. Her research, "Collaboration to Promote Early Childhood Well-Being in Families Experiencing Homelessness," created a holistic mother/child program to foster health and strong parent-child relationships in unhoused families. She intersects practice and teaching through pedagogy that raises student’s consciousness of racial bias and politicization of women’s health. She was a STTI Nurse Faculty Leadership Scholar, a Duke Teaching Equity Fellow, and a DUSON Institute of Teaching Excellence Teaching Fellow.
