Kathleen Anne Schachman PhD, FNP-BC, PPCNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Dr. Kathleen Schachman is the Wickes Endowed Professor of Nursing at Saginaw Valley State University. Her recent practice has focused on interprofessional primary care and behavioral health integration. As a proud military wife, she has spent her professional career caring for military families. Her practice-focused research has brought attention to postpartum depression among military wives. Recognized for teaching excellence, she has made innovative changes to NP education to improve diagnostic reasoning through digital standardized patients. Since 2001, Dr. Schachman has secured nearly $5 million dollars in state and federal grants to support NP education and practice.
