Dian D Evans PhD, FNP-BC, ENP-C, FAAN, FAANP
I am a Professor and Director of Emory University's Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing Family/Emergency Nurse Practitioner Program. Having nearly 30 years of NP experience I was among the first to pioneer the ENP role and have dedicated my career to educating and mentoring other NPs in emergency care. I have numerous peer-reviewed and book chapter publications as well as national and international presentations on emergency related clinical topics and emergency nurse practitioner (ENP) education. I am a board-certified FNP and ENP and served as an ENP content expert for ANCC in development of ENP certification by portfolio. I also participated in development of the ENP board certification examination for the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and continue to serve as an ENP test item writer. I was a founding member of the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners (AAENP) and served a two-year term as Board Chair. I continue to serve on AAENP's program validation and practice committees. During my term as AAENP Board Chair I was instrumental in establishing AANP's Emergency Specialty Practice Group and served as inaugural Chair. I also established the Emergency Special Interest Group for the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties and served a two-year term as Co-Chair. In addition to being selected as a Fellow of AANP I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.
