Amanda Joy Chaney DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, FAANP, AF-AASLD
Amanda Chaney is a nurse practitioner and Senior Director of Advanced Practice Provider Services at Cleveland Clinic in Florida. In her current role, Dr. Chaney manages and oversees the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Physician Assistant practice for the Cleveland Clinic Florida region, staffing over 400 advanced practice providers. Dr. Chaney served at Mayo Clinic for over 20 years in a variety of roles in leadership, quality improvement, patient care, and academic faculty. She completed her doctorate degree at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a nurse practitioner for over 15 years caring for liver transplant and hepatology patients at one of the busiest transplant centers in the nation. She has authored over 15 peer-reviewed articles, several book chapters, and is the author of the bestselling book “Fast Facts in GI and Liver Disease for Nurses: What APRNs Need To Know In a Nutshell” by Springer Publishing. As a sought after national public speaker, Dr. Chaney has presented on topics including sepsis, post op care of the transplant patient, malnutrition, liver disease management, professional development and leadership. She has been instrumental to national change for nurse practitioner and physician assistant practice and is regularly consulted to discuss APP best practices. She was inducted as a Fellow with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2017, and Associate Fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AF-AASLD) in 2020. As a part of her passion for inspiring the professional development of her colleagues, she founded and served as chair of the Influence, Inspiration, and Growth Mayo Employee Resource Group (MERG), whose goal is to assist others in attaining higher levels of scholarship and leadership. She has served in a number of leadership roles at Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, as well as serving in leadership roles of several professional societies including American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), and the International Transplant Nurses Society. She received the 2018 State Award for Excellence from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She was a featured guest on Becker’s Healthcare podcast in 2020.
